It is worth mentioning the possible connection between the Bahamas and the Mediterranean. This is written about in his article by G. Little. Bimini researcher B. Donato discovered that the columns first seen in early 2006 on Paradise Point Pier are actually cylindrical stones identical to the columns found in the narrow bay between North and South Bimini (the columns found earlier on Bimini were of two types: marble and cement).
There are dozens of these columns on the Paradise Point formation. The importance of these columns is directly related to their use in ancient Mediterranean harbors. For example, the Roman harbor at Kos had a long mole constructed of large stone slabs. Scattered across the surface of the mole are dozens of cement and marble cylinders identical to those on Bimini. It is not claimed here (in the article by G. Little) that the Bimini Formation is a Roman harbor, only that the construction techniques used at Bimini were also used in the ancient Mediterranean.
Proctor’s Causeway in the Bahamas is a mile-long line of stones west of the Bimini Causeway, off the coast of North Bimini. Previous research has shown that there are five complete or incomplete stone circles there, made of large stone blocks arranged in a circular pattern. These are likely anchor circles, a method of anchoring a ship used at several ancient Mediterranean harbors, including the harbor at Cos.
The Bahamas were once united into the Great Bahama Bank, located southeast of Florida and northeast of Cuba. The bank existed by 10,000 BCE. and was a large rectangular landmass, on which the present islands were hills on its outskirts. The inhabitants traded with the inhabitants of the neighboring islands until the sea level rose in the 10th millennium BC and the sea flooded this land, and a devastating tsunami wave passed through it.
J.M. Greer in his book “Atlantis” presented his hypothesis about the possible existence of a developed state on the Grand Bahama Bank, which traded with other countries of America and even with the Old World.
