Differences in concrete and dry screed for aligning the floor

September 24, 2019

Before laying the floors, it is necessary to carry out preparatory work. They include the performance of a screed, the type of which is selected depending on what result is required. If you need to additionally insulate the floor, work is carried out with the addition of expanded clay. In order to achieve a perfectly flat surface, you need a concrete screed.

For any type of floor preparation for work is performed the same. The surface is cleaned with a powerful vacuum cleaner of all garbage. The construction vacuum cleaner can easily remove all large and small particles from the floor. After the surface, you need to primer with a roller.

If a concrete screed is performed, then you will need a reinforced net, which is laid throughout the room to strengthen the basis. For work you will need foam concrete of class B3 or higher. Another important parameter is the density of the composition, it should be from 600 kgcement/ you will be able to advise and help make the right choice. The solution of the solution is made using special equipment. The screed is laid out with a layer from 3 to 5 cm.

Another option can be a dry screed, it is made faster than all other types. She will need to purchase special material in a construction store. The solution is poured onto the concrete base, it is aligned and the floors are installed. On top of these layers, the installation of flooring is performed.

The least time will take the preparation of the mixture for a semi -dry screed. The following materials will be needed: cement, fiber -fiber and sand (the ratio of cement and sand 0.5 kg per 1 cubic meter. m). Then the solution is leveled on the floor on beacons, left to dry for 12 hours and let it stand for about a week. In a week you can start installation of the floor covering.

Each type of screed has its own advantages, but besides them, they also take into account the cost. The screed is more strong and warm to perform much faster, but it will cost more. If a cement screed with expanded clay is chosen, this will be good insulation for the floor.
