For the correct calculation of fuel consumption, the most accurate counters were created, which in their design have rounded gears. In the classification there is a stable reduction for such devices – meters of PPO.
In addition to fuel, PPOs also work with other oil products, whose kinematic viscosity does not exceed 300 stocks. Such counters are highly reliable and operate at a temperature range of 100 degrees Celsius (from – 50 to + 50). It was the resistance to the vagaries of the weather and high accuracy that allowed the use of PPO in various conditions. They can be found in the device of a variety of stationary installations and fuel dressing products. Also, models of this group are used for production pumping of the above products.
The accuracy of the device is ensured by the mechanism of operation of the gear. It consists in interacting with water. The stream of water rotates gears, their rotations are transmitted to the counting mechanism, which converts the result into units of volume.
In the GOST, the meters of PPO are classified by a number of parameters. Including for the presence of a mechanical compartment unit (short SU), or for example, signaling installations (briefly USS). The difference between these installations in the method of removing – mechanical or electrical. If the counter is equipped with the USS, then the equipment-controls and remote control devices and remote controls are included in it.
Other important characteristics of the counter are the size of the conditional passage and the maximum allowable pressure. So, for example, the PPO-25/1.6 SU liquid meter is a PPO meter equipped with a mechanical meter, with a 25 millimeter conditional passage and the maximum permissible pressure of 1.6 MPa.
In some cases, other not so important characteristics can appear in the name of the counter. It can be a class of accuracy or fluid viscosity.
